The best place to find the part number (or model number) for your equipment is in your equipment’s user manual. If the manual is unavailable, the next best place to look is on the equipment itself to find this information. Here is where you look: The part number or model number may be located in different places on the equipment depending on the type of equipment you have. Generally, part or model identification tags are located in areas unlikely to need replacement, even after years of use. For handheld equipment, the tag is usually white and approximately 1” x ½” in size. Handheld equipment ID tags are normally located on an aluminum portion of the engine, somewhat set into the unit to protect the label from wear. For most power equipment, the tag is approximately 2" x 3" in size. Here are the common tag locations for popular equipment:
